Para Cuba, De Maria is a portrait of my grandmother, Maria Tosado. In photographs, archival footage, re-enactments and artifacts, Maria tells the story of her immigration from Cuba to the United States in 1957. For Cuba, from Maria; a complicated love letter to family and country. It was an assignment for my nonfiction production class and took a week to film and a semester to edit. It was completed in the Spring of 2010.

I served as interviewer, cinematographer, art designer, and editor.

Some of the software used for this project was Final Cut Pro, Livetype, Soundtrack Pro, and Adobe Photoshop CS3.  It was shot digitally and saved to SDHC cards.
